The long-awaited So So Def 30th anniversary concert took place at the BET Hip-Hop Awards on Tuesday. This event coincided with the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop and helped highlight So So Def’s significant contributions to the genre. Established in 1993 by Dupri, So So Def became an iconic record label, producing numerous hits and greatly influencing a whole generation of music.
The phenomenal performance commenced with Jermaine Dupri delivering a verse, after which Ludacris took over with his iconic track ‘Welcome to Atlanta’. Following this, the audience was treated to a thrilling lineup of hit performances including Bone Crusher’s ‘Never Scared’, Nelly’s ‘Grillz’ and ‘Pullin Me Back’ by Chingy and Tyrese. To top it all, Dupri introduced Dem Franchize Boyz, Jermaine Dupri, Da Brat, and Bow Wow who concluded the night with a medley of hits. You can check out the performance below.
